I was first introduced to the World Wide Web in 1996 and by 1997, I was designing web sites. Since the Commodore 64, I’ve had a passion for technology that still continues to this day. All of my skills come from the “School Of Hard Knocks” because I love to learn by doing. What motivates me is figuring out technical solutions to problems. Ask me “How can we do ___” and I’m off and running.

In 1997 I started my own consulting firm, The Ashby Group which specializes in IT solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. In addition to web based solutions, we provide network support for a diverse companies. From designing the right network, to deployment, to day-to-day management, we support LANs in several states and countries. We support Windows (all flavors), Apple, Linux and Palm OS operating systems.

One of my pet passions is with Palm OS based handhelds. I’ve been involved with them since the Pilot 1000 in 1996 and continue to this day in various capacities. Currently, I’m involved in the following Palm OS related endeavors:

On the personal side of things, my wife and I moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. We’re both originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but it’s Nashville that we now call home. I enjoy bicycle touring, cooking, wine, spirits and cigars. I’m also an avid fan of film and television which has recently manifested into becoming the TV.com Editor for “Hustle“, “The IT Crowd” and several actors.

I was first introduced to the Wild Wonderful World by Natasha during the brave new Winter of 1984 via a Commodore 64 and a state of the art, 300baud Speed Demon dial-up modem. The relationship was short lived but the Midnight glow of the amber fonts made that perfectly proportioned bulletin board my dirt road on-ramp to the Information Highway.

I’m the “What If?”, “Never Give Up”, “Everyman” member of the Simply Digital team. Currently my day to night finds me as a

In my “past lives” I’ve done just about everything in the music industry at one level or another, both on and off stage. Worked as a marketing director, civil servant, a low voltage tech and even a Professor at a University. Somewhere in there I managed to coach over 450 boys and girls in three sports from ages 5 to 14

I’ve also: dug ditches, remodeled homes, written and recorded theme music for Educational Television, performed with Chet Atkins, traveled the US and Canada on a tour bus, built a barn with my Dad, surveyed property, named city streets, loaned David Copperfield my knife, delivered newspapers, planted gardens, toured for the USO, built a chicken coop using solar powered tools, repaired security systems and given an impromptu command performance for Hubert Humphrey.
